From US-1, turn onto Walton Road, then onto Event Center Place, and you reach 9221 SE Event Center Place. On four of the five Saturdays from Nov. 7 through Dec. 5, that is where Port St. Lucie throws its party. The MIDFLORIDA Event Center has two ballrooms, an outdoor amphitheater, festival grounds and a gymnasium. Between now and early December those spaces host a Caribbean festival, a comic convention, a global food night and the city's holiday parade.
All of this happens on land the City has a different plan for. A Walton & One master plan dated May 29, 2025 treats the roughly 76 acres south of Walton Road on US-1 as a future walkable mix of retail, restaurants, entertainment, culture and homes, with the Event Center and Village Square as anchors. CBS12 ran a piece in August on Port St. Lucie's long search for a traditional downtown, and Walton & US-1 was one of the places in that story. On the calendar, that downtown already shows up for duty every weekend.
Here is the season at this one address, in order.
The only Saturday in that run with nothing on is Nov. 28, right after Thanksgiving. One other date catches people: the Event Center is closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. The City's Veterans Day Ceremony is at 11 a.m. that morning at Veterans Memorial Park, 2100 SE Veterans Memorial Parkway, where seating is limited and the City suggests bringing a lawn chair.
Nov. 7 is music-first. The Port St. Lucie Daily lists Gramps Morgan, Nigel Lewis and Ed Robinson on the Caribbean festival bill. As of the outlet's Oct. 10 check, Eventbrite ticket options ran from free up to $80.88. Since even the free tier goes through Eventbrite, pick your tier before you drive over.
Nov. 14–15 is for fans. PalmCon's guest list includes writer and publisher Steph Cannon and comic artists Cesar Feliciano, Thomas Florimonte and Jeramy Hobbs. Star Wars and Star Trek costuming groups are also listed, and the band 8-Bit Wave plays Sunday. It's the one weekend in the stretch where every adult needs a paid ticket. Here are the organizer's advance prices:
| PalmCon: Treasure Coast advance ticket | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult, Saturday only | $20 |
| Adult, Sunday only | $17 |
| Adult, weekend pass | $26 |
| Children 12 and under with a paid adult | Free |
A family with two adults and two younger kids pays $52 for weekend passes, or $40 for Saturday alone. One small conflict: PalmCon's website ends Sunday at 5 p.m., while the Event Center's PalmCon listing says 6 p.m. If you're going late on Sunday, check the hours that morning.
Nov. 21 is a food night, and it's free. The City's International Fest runs 5 to 9 p.m. with cultural exhibits, vendors, giveaways and food trucks serving dishes from around the world. The Resolvers headline. Admission costs nothing. You only pay for what you eat.
Dec. 5 is the long day. The Festival of Lights is the City's signature holiday event. It opens at 2 p.m. with a midway carnival, holiday vendors and food trucks. The Parade of Lights steps off at 6 p.m., followed by the tree lighting and fireworks. The listing names Greggie and the Jets, an Elton John tribute band, and notes that the schedule is subject to change. If you have little ones, plan around that 6 p.m. parade. Showing up at 2 means eight hours on site before the fireworks.
Some of the best uses of this address happen on weeknights, when the festival grounds sit empty. The Event Center's art gallery covers 2,000 square feet and is free. It runs six- to eight-week shows by Treasure Coast artists, with weekday hours and evening receptions. The current show, Jill Rance's abstract paintings alongside Steve Schoenbaum's fine art photography, makes way for Between Image & Idea on Nov. 5. That show stays up through the rest of the season.
The Event Center's listing for the exhibit describes the new show as three artists who make images in very different ways. It also says there is "no single correct interpretation - only the opportunity to look closely and make your own discoveries." The Nov. 5 reception runs 6 to 8 p.m. and fits easily into a weeknight.
Eleven days later, on Monday, Nov. 16, the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony plays "Symphony at Sea." It's an evening of orchestral pieces inspired by the ocean, running 7 to 8:30 p.m. With the gallery and the symphony, the address stays busy on weeknights too.
The Event Center lists an adjacent 800-space garage as complimentary, plus two surface lots and street parking around the site. That garage is one of the amenities the City lists for the Walton & One area, along with an outdoor stage, an interactive fountain, a fitness center and a network of walking and biking trails.
PSL Live Markets set up on the flat lot at Walton Road and US-1. Admission is free, parking is free, and the market welcomes families and pets, with local makers, food vendors and live music. On Nov. 15 the market shares the grounds with PalmCon's second day. Arriving at 1 p.m., when the market opens, is your best shot at a close parking space.
Some of the evenings above run long, and a sit-down dinner afterward is a short drive away:
East Port Plaza may also get a Starbucks at 9022 S. US-1. TCPalm reported in January that it had City Council approval but no opening date. The City's Coming Soon to PSL page lists it as a proposed 2,500-square-foot coffee shop with a drive-thru, east of US-1 and north of Walton Road. For now, plan your Festival of Lights coffee as if it isn't open yet.
The May 2025 master plan imagines the Event Center itself getting bigger. One concept calls for a 75,000-square-foot first expansion phase and another 40,000-square-foot phase after that, plus public open space and parking. These are planning concepts. Nothing on that list has been built yet.
The project that has gone furthest is the soccer stadium. City Council approved the deal for a professional stadium at Walton & One unanimously on Nov. 4, 2025, WPTV reported. The City's stadium page describes a 6,000-seat venue on nearly 6 acres for Port St. Lucie Sports Club, a USL League One men's team, with a women's team to follow. The City would get the stadium for 24 event days a year.
The timeline has moved since the deal was announced. In July 2026, WPTV reported that groundbreaking was planned for November 2026, with the stadium scheduled to open in early 2028. The club still planned its first USL League One season for 2027. That same month, TCPalm described the new renderings, which include restaurants, bars, a merchandise store, a video screen and an anchor fountain.
If that schedule holds, the land next to this season's festival grounds could start turning into a construction site during the same weeks as the Caribbean festival, PalmCon and the Festival of Lights.
If you're spending these Saturdays at Walton & US-1 and wondering what the stadium and the rest of Walton & One could mean for the streets around it, I'm glad to talk it through. I keep up with these plans so you don't have to. Call Lorie Arena. I answer my phone!
